Group of weeds that have damaged crops in thousands of hectares in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh and now damaging in other states one after another. Government have said farmers to play drums and take measures light smoke to keep locusts away.
The district already placard with epidemics such as coronavirus and now the loctus has increased the rates of farmers by attack in the crops. Agra administration also issued a alert of locust attacks in the district. Chief Minister Ashok gehlot has demanded the centre to strengthen the local governing body in the state as it is attack in the border areas of Rajasthan.
Necessary resources should be provided
In Video conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi ashok gelhot pointed out this matter. work of locust warning organisation is under the centre. so the Government should strengthen it and provide necessary resources.
According to senior officer of Madhya Pradesh department of farmer welfare and agriculture development for location of the state , Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ratlam and Ujjain, have witnessed high outbreaks of locusts, while locust teams have reached some villages in Dewas.
A team of state agriculture officers, agriculture center and fire brigade are also supporting the central team in locust control. The situation is similar in Gujarat.
